2020 Spring Garden Tour

Save the date: To be announced

We have 8 wonderful gardens, 1 fabulous shopping stop, and 1 unique urban art experience. Many of the gardens we will be visiting are hidden gems in the West Reading/ Wyomissing Area. We also have three gardens in the Leesport area near our shopping stop of Sycamore Springs. In the next few newsletters we will be highlighting some of the gardens to tempt you.

Mike Miller’s garden is tucked away in a quiet corner of West Reading. In the last 11 years since he bought the craftsman house he has created 13 raised beds with flowers and vegetables, planted some fruit trees, and built a Cobb oven. As many of you know, Mike is an art teacher at Wyomissing Area School District. He is also involved with the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation creating public art projects with students from West Reading and Wyomissing. Included in his garden tour will be a one block mini tour of these murals on Cherry
Street. Students will be describing and leading the tour.
Pamela and Phil Ertel’s garden has a gorgeous view overlooking Reading. Their terraced garden is filled with multiple blooms for color for both spring and summer. Pamela and Phil are multiple award winners at the Philadelphia Flower Show. Their garden is a horticultural dream with trees, shrubs, and water features, natural habitats for birds and bees, garden ornaments and even an herb garden. This sloping garden shows a unique way of creating not only beauty but also privacy in a multi-home development.
