President of Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County, Brad Kissam, thanking members of the Pennsylvania Heartland Herb Society for the historic Kitchen Garden at White Horse Tavern, in Historic Morlattan Village, 31 Old Phhiladelphia Pike, Douglassville PA.

The Pennsylvania Heartland Herb Society of Berks County, a Unit of the Herb Society of America, has awarded a $1500 scholarship to Hayden Phillips, a student at Delaware Valley University. She is a resident of Oley, PA, where she was always active in FFA. Hayden was just elected president of the alumni chapter at the school. She has worked at Oley Valley Feed Mill since 2017 and plans to graduate in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Crop Science. She is a member of several agricultural organizations at Delaware Valley. After graduation, her goal is to own three feed stores and to do more custom soil sampling and fertilization programs, as well as expand the informational sessions offered in the plant science field.

The Society has awarded a total of 36 scholarships since 1992.

With sincere disappointment we announce the cancellation of the October 19, 2021 Symposium.

As the time arrived to commit to a venue and all costs related to this event, we are left with no reasonable alternative.

The well-being of our friends and volunteers is a top priority.

In addition, the continuing concerns related to COVID have impacted the venue and associated costs so that there was no reasonable alternative but to cancel.

Please continue to follow the Pennsylvania Heartland Herb Society on this website blog and our facebook page. We are currently planning a Garden Bus Tour in June 2022!
